What decision are you making?

Editorial Policy

Our standard: Every JapanTripKit guide should help a traveler make a specific decision. It must be source-backed, mobile-readable, commercially transparent, and clear about what can change.

Source hierarchy

  • Use official government, airport, rail, transit, venue, or operator sources for rules, routes, schedules, and restrictions.
  • Use the actual provider page for product coverage, compatibility, price, inventory, refunds, and terms.
  • Identify secondary sources clearly and use them only when they add context that primary sources do not provide.

Decision-grade content

A publishable guide explains who an option fits, who it does not fit, the meaningful trade-offs, what should be rechecked before purchase, when the page was reviewed, and the sources supporting changeable facts. We avoid unsupported legal, visa, price, timetable, inventory, device-compatibility, and “best” claims.

AI and human review

AI may assist with research organization, outlines, drafts, and updates. It is not treated as a factual source. A human editor must review claims, source links, commercial disclosures, and the final traveler recommendation before publication.

Commercial independence and corrections

Affiliate compensation does not determine a recommendation. Commercial calls to action must follow a useful explanation, and partner destinations must be relevant, reachable, and validated. Material corrections are made promptly; readers can report an issue through our contact page.
