Effective date: October 1, 2026. These Terms of Use apply to japantripkit.com (“Japan Trip Kit”, “the site”), which is run by the Japan Trip Kit Editorial Team (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What the site is

Japan Trip Kit publishes general travel-planning information for visitors to Japan: guides, checklists, comparisons and links to official sources and booking providers. The site is an information service. We do not sell travel products, we are not a travel agency, and no contract for transport, tickets, accommodation, insurance or any other service is formed with us when you use the site.

2. Information is general and can change

  • Rules, prices, schedules, opening hours, entry requirements and tax procedures in Japan change. We check official sources and show when a guide was last checked, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete, current or correct when you read it.
  • Nothing on the site is legal, tax, immigration, medical, financial or insurance advice. For decisions that matter, confirm the details with the official authority or the provider before you rely on them.
  • Where a guide links to an official page (for example a government agency, airport or railway operator), the official page takes precedence over our summary.

3. Bookings with third parties

Some links take you to third-party providers such as KKday or Klook. When you book through them, your contract is with that provider, under its own terms, prices, cancellation rules and privacy policy. The provider, not Japan Trip Kit, is responsible for the product, payment, refunds and customer support. Please read the provider’s terms before you pay.

4. Affiliate links

Some links are affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Commission does not decide what we recommend. Details are in our Affiliate disclosure.

5. Acceptable use

You may read, share links to and print pages for personal, non-commercial trip planning. You must not:

  • copy or republish substantial parts of the site, including text, tables, diagrams and checklists, without our written permission (short quotations with a link back to the source page are fine);
  • scrape, crawl or download the site in a way that places an unreasonable load on it or circumvents technical limits;
  • use the site to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or distribute malware or spam;
  • misrepresent your affiliation with us or present our content as your own.

6. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the text, original diagrams, checklists and site design are owned by or licensed to the Japan Trip Kit Editorial Team. Third-party names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify their products and services. Official documents we link to remain the property of the issuing organization.

We link to official sources and other websites for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose of the information, and we are not liable for losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or any third-party product or service reached through it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or rights you have as a consumer.

We may update, move or remove pages, and we may change these terms. When we change these terms we update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
